02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped
→ Peppermint Topping
03 - 6 peppermint candy canes or hard peppermint candies, crushed (approximately 1/2 cup)
→ Optional
04 - 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
# How To Make It:
01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or arrange 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Heat the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
03 - If using, mix 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into the molds or spread evenly over the lined baking sheet to a depth of 1/4 inch. Tap gently to level the surface.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until firmly set.
06 - Using a clean bowl, melt the white chocolate following the same method as the dark chocolate.
07 - If desired, stir 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
08 - Pour the white chocolate atop the set dark chocolate layer and spread evenly with a small offset spatula.
09 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.
10 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until completely set.
11 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake pieces. Store in an airtight container in a cool environment.
